How to get there

Take Line 3 to Anguk Station for Insadong (exits 5–6) and Bukchon (exit 2). Ikseon-dong is next to Jongno 3-ga Station (Lines 1, 3, 5, exits 4 and 6). For Gyeongbokgung use Gyeongbokgung Station (Line 3). Insadong to Ikseon-dong is a 7-minute walk. Plan it with our subway route finder.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get to Bukchon Hanok Village?

Take Seoul Subway Line 3 to Anguk Station, exit 2, and walk uphill for 10–15 minutes. Tourist visits to the main lanes are allowed from 10 am to 5 pm.

Is Insadong close to Ikseon-dong?

Yes. They are about a 7-minute walk apart, and Bukchon is another 10 minutes north. You can see all three in one day.

Do you need a ticket for Bukchon?

No, Bukchon is free. It is a residential neighborhood, so keep to the visiting hours and stay quiet.

Is Gyeongbokgung free with hanbok?

Yes. Visitors wearing hanbok enter Seoul’s palaces for free. Gyeongbokgung is closed on Tuesdays.
