How to read the result
Board at is where you tap in. Each line badge shows the line color you will see on the signs. Because every platform sign in Seoul lists the next stop, the result tells you the next station in your direction — follow the sign that shows that station. Transfer at means you walk to another line inside the station without tapping out. Follow the colored line numbers on the floor and ceiling.
Where the data comes from
Station distances and running times come from public data published by Seoul Metro and the Korea National Railway on data.go.kr. Transfer walking times come from Seoul Metro. For lines without published running times, we estimate time from distance, and the result says so. Fares follow the capital-area distance fare: ₩1,550 for the first 10 km with a card, then ₩100 for every 5 km up to 50 km and ₩100 for every 8 km after that.
Tips for riding the Seoul subway
- Use a T-money card. Every adult ride costs ₩100 less than a single-journey ticket, and transfers to buses are discounted.
- Check the last train. Most lines stop running around midnight, and the last trains on long routes leave earlier.
- Airport trips: AREX all-stop trains run from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station in about an hour. The AREX express is faster but costs more and does not use the normal fare.
- Lines 1, 4 and Gyeongui-Jungang share tracks with Korail trains. Some trains end early or skip stops, so check the destination on the train.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find the fastest subway route in Seoul?
Enter your departure and destination stations above. The finder compares routes by estimated time, including about 2 minutes of waiting per transfer, and shows the line, direction and transfer stations.
How do I know which direction to take?
Signs on Seoul platforms show the next station. The result gives the next stop in your direction, so follow the sign with that station name.
How much is the subway fare between two stations?
With a T-money card, adults pay ₩1,550 up to 10 km. Longer rides add ₩100 per 5 km up to 50 km. The finder shows the fare for the shortest distance, which is how the fare is charged.
Does it include AREX and Shinbundang surcharges?
No. These lines add their own surcharge on top of the distance fare. The result shows a + next to the fare when your route uses them.
